Guesthouses & Bungalows
Typically, guesthouses and bungalows are privately-run establishments with 20 rooms or fewer with a more casual check-in and check-out process. A guesthouse/bungalow village is more likely to offer guests a discounted rate for long stays (a month or more) and will normally have limited amenities and guest services. This is the best choice for people who are on a limited budget, or just don’t want to spend a large portion of their budget on lodging, yet still wish to sleep in private comfort. Most guesthouses will charge by the room, so two or three people staying together will share the nightly cost of the room. Different bed configurations can be found in some guesthouses - one large bed (king, queen or double), two doubles, two twins, and even three or four twin beds. The main difference between guesthouses and bungalows is that with bungalows, the rooms are detached or share only one wall with another, but the level of lodging are not dissimilar from one another.Hotels
A hotel will generally be more expensive than a guesthouse, but it will offer a wider range of amenities such as laundry, bellhop services and room service, and will be more rigid on their check-out times - but will offer a more professional level of customer service. Hotels are much more likely to accept credit cards than a guesthouse would be. This will be one of the more expensive lodging option in town, but for those who are on a larger budget, and expect a higher level of service where they stay will find this the most viable option.Dorms
A dorm-style guesthouse is a very affordable (and in some cases, free) alternative to a hotel or guesthouse. Popular with backpackers with limited budgets, guests will receive a single bed in a shared room with other travelers. Since the room is shared among others, most will offer for a nominal fee (typically $2 or less) a private locker in which to store your belongings so they do not have to be lugged with you as you explore the town or visit the beach for the day. Although they offer little privacy, they are popular with backpackers who like to meet new people and make new friends. In most cases, room-swapping can be arranged so that you’ll be able to share the dorm with new friends. This is a good alternative for those who are willing to give up having a private room to save money for more pleasurable expenditures.Resorts
Resorts are the most expensive lodging option. Resorts are for people who place the quality of their lodging and personal service above all else. Typically, a resort will have all needed amenities on their premesis, including restaurants, sundries and nightlife. One staying at a resort needn't venture ourside it to find everything they need. This option is really for the less-adventurous travelers who seek a quiet holiday being pampered and in luxury.Apartments/Condos and Houses
For those planning on staying here for a longer stay (typically a month or more), small apartments or bungalows are available for rent. If you're looking to stay long-term, please also consider referring to our Real Estate section.11 Total Listings - Displaying Page 1 of 2
